Heidi Schneider, a Minnesota native, moved to Virginia in 2005 after living in Baltimore, MD and teaching at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Since her arrival in Virginia, Schneider has been the recipient of an Artist Residency at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine and has continued to exhibit regionally and nationally. Most recently, Schneider exhibited at the Sandarac Gallery in Baltimore, MD; the Schoodic Educational and Research Center at Acadia National Park in Winter Harbor, ME; the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News, and Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR. She currently teaches 2-D Foundations in the Department of Art and Art History at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA and is represented by the Sandarac Gallery in Baltimore, MD.
Schneiderís recent work features personal narratives of solitude along with spiritual and psychological awareness within landscapes inspired by the rocky coast of Maine and the sandy beaches of Virginia.
