Artist's Statement

"I like whoever it was (Matisse, I think) who said
that 'all artists ought to have their toungues cut out,'
and I would only add that their typing finger ought to
be broken as well."

"As students of painting we admire Giotto,
Masacco, Caravaggio, Cezanne, Degas, and a host of
others; but we hesitate to follow their example. The
question is: why study the masters of figure
composition unless we intend to give it a try?"
