VITAE
Professor Ballenger joined the Williams School faculty in January 2002. Prior to earning his doctorate in Management Information Systems, Professor Ballenger worked for Unisys Corporation for more than eleven years in a variety of information technology related positions. Professor Ballenger was a member of the faculty at Babson College for two years and then served as executive vice president of ServNET Technologies of Charlotte, North Carolina. He spent 2½ years at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) as an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Accounting, where he received the Undergraduate Outstanding Teaching Award. While at UAH he was instrumental in developing an electronic commerce major. Before returning to W&L Professor Ballenger was an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Wake Forest University in the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy.
Professor Ballenger's teaching, research, and consulting interests are in the areas of electronic commerce, database management systems, object-oriented technologies, and accounting information systems. In addition to teaching and research, Professor Ballenger has made numerous professional presentations on accounting issues in electronic commerce.
