He is founder and principal of Renaissance Management Consulting, a firm that provides strategic management consulting services for new business start-ups, early-stage firms seeking financing, and mergers and acquisitions of mid-state ventures. Currently, he is also serving as CFO for a medical technology venture.

He was formerly a principal in the Strategy Practice at Hay Consultants and has held management positions in business planning, marketing, and finance at FMC Corporation and Allied Signal, Inc. His teaching experience includes faculty positions at the College of William and Mary, Georgetown University, and Washington and Lee University.

On a personal note, Professor Gibbs is part of the Texas diaspora having lived 18 of the last 20 years away from the "motherland." He is married with a toddler (son) who, for the moment, defines his existence!
