Professor Kester joined W&L’s faculty in July 2000. He teaches
Managerial Finance, Cases in Corporate Finance, and Commercial Bank Lending.
Prior to coming to W&L, he held the William H. Dunkak Chair in Finance
at Bucknell University. A recipient of teaching awards, he has also taught
at the University of Virginia and held visiting professorships at the
National University of Singapore, the University of Malaya, the University
of Ljubljana, the University of Melbourne, and the University of the
South Pacific in the Fiji Islands.
His previous positions in business include president of Financial Analysis
Systems, Inc., marketing representative with The Service Bureau Company,
and various positions in management accounting, credit analysis, and
commercial lending with First Union National Bank.
Professor Kester is an active seminar leader. He is a member of the
faculty of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association School of Commercial
Lending and annually leads executive seminars sponsored
by the Singapore Institute of Management and the University of Ljubljana
Centre for Management
Development and Training in Slovenia. He has also led
management development programs for the Jakarta Stock Exchange, Bank
of Austria, Monash South
Africa, Singapore Airlines, and other organizations.
