Professor Kester joined W&L’s faculty in July 2000. He teaches Managerial Finance, Cases in Corporate Finance, and Corporate Mergers, Leveraged Buyouts and Divestitures. During the summer months, he teaches postgraduate courses in corporate finance in Slovenia at the University of Ljubljana and in Australia at the University of Melbourne. He has also held visiting professorships at the National University of Singapore, University of Malaya, University of the South Pacific, Monash South Africa, and National University of Ireland, Galway.
Prior to coming to W&L, he held the William H. Dunkak Chair in Finance at Bucknell University and was a member of the faculty of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
His business experience includes president of Financial Analysis Systems, Inc., a financial consulting and computer software company. He has also been a marketing representative with The Service Bureau Company and held various positions in management accounting, credit analysis and commercial lending with First Union National Bank.
Professor Kester has led numerous executive seminars and management
development programs. He is a member of the faculty of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association School of Commercial Lending and annually leads seminars sponsored by the Singapore Institute of Management and the University of Ljubljana Centre for Management Development and Training. He has also led programs for the Jakarta Stock Exchange, UniCredit Group, Bank Austria Creditanstalt, Singapore Airlines, and other organizations.
He serves as an associate editor of the Asian Journal of Business and Accounting and is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Financial Education and Advances in Financial Education.
